Well after a couple of 'slow' weeks on the console seen, I got bored and decided to bring my DC out of retirement, played sonic adventure, looked back on Shenmue, excelled at soul calibur and had a blast on virtua soccer with my son (who's only know the Ps2) and we both agreed that the DC still is the better console. I'll never get rid of it EVER.

I agree with you whole heartedly. :)

On the whole, far better pick up and play arcade games than the ps2 or xbox for that matter. Not as many decent immersive games though. I still play it often though!

yep.. well i gave my dreamcast to my nephews (4 and 6)(for xmas last year) and this year they got a xbox (i chipped).
So i said if i could have the dc back as they didn't need want it. The misses told me no.. and went off on one.. maybe something to do with my GC,XBOX,PS2 around the house.. arse.. as they gave it to the local church (im not reglisous in any way) so I had to agree, under priv kids get to play illegal DC games in church (?!?)
But i still want one.. bah
On a side not my nephew (5) just completed halo2 on his own.. how cool is that...

This game is such a blast... The Dreamcast is still the only console I own and I don't plan to buy a new one anytimes soon. I have more then 300 games for it and it's still hooked to my TV when a friend come over.
Why would you need another console anyway. Dreamcast have it all.

yeah i hope that the 360 has a kickass emulation scene that can handle DC emulator/games, tho i doubt that will happen if the PC emulators still suck

i have one in my closet somewhere....it was OK...but if you guys think it still tops ps2...why does it only cost about $15 in EB?? Sonic was like the only good game

I'm going to get this tattooed in reverse on my forehead, so when I wake up each morning, I can look in the mirror and realise exactly why I don't smoke crack.
1. Commercial dollar value is meaningless. As various singers over the years have repeated, "The best things in life are free." Not strictly true as a private jet beats cancer any day of the week, but you get the point.
2. Sonic. The only good game? Soul Calibur, Jet Set Radio, The various SF games, MSR, Virtua Tennis, Resident Evil CV (Better than PS2 version), etc etc.. the DC had a higher "Hit!" ratio than virtually any other console I can think of, and trounces the PS2s ratio by about 100 times, and I'm not exagerating. The only reason I didn't list more games is because I have a crap memory, not because there weren't many of them.

it's a great arcade machine, but bad for rpg or deeper games that you keep playing for hours and hours.
except for re: cv, shenmue, skies of arcadia, and maybe e.g.g.
