In the past 7 days, 50% of the posts in this forum have been, in my opinion, misplaced...

So I'll begin the discussion on what acceptable posts for this forum should be:[list=1]

• This forum is not here for technical support.
  While it's been argued that none of the iSO News forums are geared to provide tech support, there are forums where help is given - and this is not one of them.
  
  
• If you are not sure if something is a Bad Release then you should not be posting here.
  Many factors can play a role in the problems you might be experiencing with a release. The first thing to do is check the appropriate forum for others discussing the issue. I see 2 out of 5 posts here already addressed in the correct forums.
  Only after you've confirmed that it's not an inherent problem with the software in question should you even consider posting here. But before posting you should check, check & recheck the rls as rogue bin errors and bad burns can occur on every system from time to time.
  
  
• Reporting on releases over a few months old is pointless.
  First of all, it's not an easily verified report as it's no longer available via the common channels.
  Secondly, if the release wasn't discovered to be bad within the first day of it's release, the overwhelming chances are the release is completely fine and your problems are a matter unrelated to the releases integrity.
  (That second point required a bit of in-between-the-lines reading:  USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!)
  If the release is old, search both this forum as well as the appropriate scene forum for possible answers to your problem. If it's already been reported as a Bad Release, you don't need to duplicate the claim. If it hasn't been reported, you can be pretty certain that it is not.[/list=1]
  I know someone's going to call attention to this so I'll address it now. The forum description reads:
  
  "Release fuckups. Missing audio, bad bins, report any/all problems here."
  
  Someone will inevitably claim that this means any problems that anyone is having with any release belongs here. I will disagree. Reason being, this site is here for those already involved in a scene to some degree. For the most part, these people understand that there are often times quirky problems related to downloading and burning pirated software/media. The first thing they will do is look to themselves for the solution and most of the time they will find it.
  Those with less experience may not recognize the problem they are having as being a common phenomenon of this process or simply a limitation of the software specifically.
  
  In summation, if you can't figure out that you need the latest video drivers to play the newest game release, you most certainly should not be trying to report Bad Releases.

  For those browsing through this forum for a heads up on Bad Releases, any thread that has been locked was regarding a release that WAS NOT BAD. I will lock any misreported problems or move them to the appropriate thread if there is one. Open threads are regarding releases that have been confirmed bad or in the process of being confirmed.

 Ok, now I wanna start the pool ala the Superbowl pool and I will take "tommorow" as my pick for how long it takes the first Bozo to come in here and say "Well, I dunno if this is exactly a Bad Release thing but......................."
and if too many of you fellow brothers in arms out there also have so little faith in some of the moroons around here and U also want tommorow then we can break it up into the hours in which case I will take...................lets see it is 9:10 here East Coast on the eve of the 26th.....
Ok, then put me down for this next morning at 2 pm EST of the 27th.............Yup, I feel real good about that considering there were a few releases today too!! Anyone else? And yes, my post isnt about a bad release but I was thanking you for your eloquent post and I still dont qualify as a shtoopud post because I didnt come in here crying "Well, I dunno if this.........."  &:l)   Like that squiggle of hair on that smiley?
