Let's assume that there is no God. After you die, some weird mechanism of reality gets you and your mom's soul together into a temporal place of existence (time is ticking), thereafter only one of you would continue existence pain free, the other soul would not die but become permanently ingrained in a state of pain (just assume this). If the choice was up to you, would you send yourself to eternal pain/torment or your mom, knowing either way you won't see each other ever again ?
Think about it deeply, all that permanent pain....
