I feel sorry for the meta 01 guys and their space glasses.  Not only have Microsoft stole their thunder but they've practically ripped off their concept video too

SpaceGlasses are the future of computing: http://youtu.be/b7I7JuQXttw

Not a new idea in any way but everyone is shitting their pants like it is.

Im'not seeing any reason why Microsoft would lie about this. How do you manage to think that?

No it's not terrible. If you watched the Build video from Microsoft you would have been amazed. And people applaused it after the demonstration. It will surely bee the next step in computing. Think about it: you want to watch a movie on a big screen. You just "throw" the screen on a wall and then make the screen as big as you want, and the resolution is still HD or 4K /depends on your hardware. Terrible? not at all. Some people just don't like new things.

If you see where the meta guys are at, it's not impressive on paper.  The actual display portion of the glasses are very small squares in front of the eye which limits your field of view.  You have to point your head to that area, and that's probably not a bad thing because how are they supposed to do both eye tracking and focus tracking when VR has struggled with head tracking as much as it has.

Also with such small displays, the PPI of the display will be shit.  You won't be seeing HD let alone 4k for a long time.  I suspect the initial iterations of these products will make VR screen door look like 8k.

I'm excited for the tech, just realistic.

Exactly !!!!   Still waiting for things I wished for, and now forgotten what exactly I was looking forward to.
