I was reading up on the 980 and came across another article reviewing them in SLI.  I was quite surprised at the performance benefits at resolutions over 1900x1200.  In most cases the returns were 50% fps, and in a few they were almost 100%. 

I'm surprised because it used to be that SLI only yielded a 10-15% increase.  I completely ignored the technology because of that.  Now it's looking more viable, especially for 1440p.

Well I'm using 1920x1200 with gtx 660 but I'd rather stick to a single card setup. I can't afford or justify going for higher resolution at this point. But if someone has funds for such solution, why not. Beware that not every game will give you 50 or 100% boost in fps. Optimizing SLI for specific game plays a major role here.
