Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
« on: July 28, 2014, 03:01:18 AM »
Quote
A apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There's Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

Wow,  finally a 'reboot' of an older 'b-movie' shot with modern cinematography techniques/equipment that looks pretty bad ass in the teaser.

Kind of wish more movie companies would throw these ComiCon teasers out there instead of leaving them as "exclusive" for the thousands of nerds that attend, because last I look thousands in ticket sales don't make a movie.

Looks pretty good, hopefully the acting/story holds up.

Yeah, I hope so too. I've been fairly impressed by the trailers so far, but when I watched this one it dawned on me that both of them have been epic action scenes and really fast cuts put to a nice soundtrack and beat, but we've barely heard or seen any of the actual acting and story parts, which got me a bit scared. Still seems to have a good atmosphere in it, let's just hope it doesn't turn into some kind of Thunderdome retardedness.

No Mel Gibson?  Not even as an evil pedophile clown?  He needs to die in this movie.  It's like Arnold not selling out for every Terminator movie, it's just not the same.

That storm sequence at the end of the second trailer was awesome.

Did not disappoint, just balls-to-the-wall fun. 8/10

Several true 1080p webrips have been floating around for a couple of weeks.

Actually, that's just it - the plot was nearly non-existent.
Dialogue?  Same.

Lots of action though -

Good movie, a little overrated for what it really is, which is an awesome action movie. Action 10/10. Overall 8/10.

Yeah I saw it a few days ago. It was thoroughly entertaining throughout, and as soon as you accepted all the goofy yet badass quirks and oddities in the movie the better. Great visuals and pace with brutal scenes. Definitely worth watching if you haven't yet.
