Whoa, for free? I wonder if the Windows 8 userbase is still much smaller than the Windows 7 one, seeing how poorly received W8 was. Makes W9 seems like a W8-disaster fix.

So yeah, it's windows 10, not 9:

Microsoft has just announced the next version of Windows. They're not calling it Windows One, or Windows 9, instead Redmond has decided to call it Windows 10.

But whyyyy... Fucking Microsoft messing up numbering so bad lately. It's kinda like with Winamp, where WA 3 was so bad they just skipped WA 4 altogether and directly upgraded to WA 5.

lol wtf? Well it can't be any more confusing than Google's Nexus phone line going from 1-6 soon in addition to the Nexus 7 mini tablet, as well as the Nexus 10 tablet and it's upcoming successor the Nexus 9.

Grabbed WindowsTechnicalPreview-x64-EN-GB.iso.

Installed on latest VMware.

Running off i5 8GB RAM laptop from 2011 using SATA2 on Samsung 840 EVO 512GB SSD .

Installed very quickly and runs like butter. Seems very quick but then again Windows 8/8.1 was fast.

So far liking it but unsure how major enterprises will as this will be my bread and butter for the next many years as corps go from W7->10 in 1-2 years from now.  :P
Removed specs due to them being classed as L.T.B bait (Low Tech Bastard)

I installed it on my laptop and i'm pretty happy with it. I really dont get MS's obsession with these tiles, but other than that, pretty happy so far.

How the hell are numbers pissing you off....don't you like numbers. It doesn't make a shit difference what the number is. If it's Windows 22 or 35 doesnt make a difference, its what it does that makes a difference. If you know, Windows started with Windows 1.1 - .1.3. Then came Windows 95.....what the heck? Microsoft jumped over 93,7 versions (numbers)...that must have pissed you off.

It's not pissing me off, it's just seemed so stupid to just jump 1 number. The other ones made more sense in some sort of way, but to just skip a 9 seemed stupid. Then I read about the reasons for it and now it's fine.

I've got the x64 one straight off microsofts preview website so no keylogger..  Working great on all my machines except an asus laptop.  The laptop has both nvivia 870m and intel 4000 and now games seem to be having an issue using the correct card.  Apparently it's driver related.  So only 1 machine is back on 8..
You know your game is crap when people don't even bother pirating it.

I must say, totally did not expect MS to allow free upgrade!
