Windows 10

http://www.techspot.com/news/55299-rumor-windows-9-threshold-expected-in-april-2015.html

I got used to Win 8.1, but they could do better. The guy responsible for Win 8 got the boot, so I'm curious to see what the new management does.

I'm actually considering going back to Windows 7 as performance of 8.1 isn't as good as 7 for me. The nasty colors/windows and fugly metro interface is possible to get used to, but still ugly, slower and pointless.

While 8 seems just as stable as 7, I can't help feel that 8/8.1 is the newest version of ME/Vista :P At least, I'm pretty sure that's how it'll go down in history...

yeah this windows 7 is like windows xp.
Corrected it for you, no need to thank me.

Its by design as well. MS moved to designing and perfecting tablet operating systems that have not been created to be used on a PC IMO.

I read this weekend and decided to revert back to Win7 from 8.1 - Games didn't perform as well, so went back to 8.1 - it was that simple for me :(

You too? All I've heard about 8/8.1 is that gaming and disk speed is virtually all round better, but I've only seen decreases in most cases. Worst hit for me is audio processing which has taken a HUGE hit. Where I used to have a CPU load of around 50-60% has jumped up to 80-90%. That's just a weird increase that I've still found no solution or reason for. I think I'll be done with 8.1 as soon as I get enough time to throw 7 back on. Lets hope Windows 9 is a better offering :P

Yeah, sad to say it, but on my rig at least it's true. It's not that BF4 ran like shit on Win7 but the difference was definitely noticeable, runs as smooth as butter on 8.1 (ultra), but i'd say at least 20 frames less on Win7.

If MS got rid of the person responsible for Win8, I imagine Win9 will be another great OS like win7 was. If it isn't it's another step towards everyone going Linux :P

8 runs faster all around for me.  I have it duel booted with 7 and it's noticeable.  But I use a program called Start 8 and never ever ever go to the metro interface.  So to me it's just a faster win 7 with a lot more info on the menus and copying screens.  I'm hoping MS learns from this mistake and actually makes 9 for pcs again.
You know your game is crap when people don't even bother pirating it.
