I've only ever seen Spader in Stargate and The Last Supper. In both movies he plays a kind of geeky and wussy character. I believe he's a very good actor though so it'll be interesting seeing him play the part :)
Yeah but he was decent in The Watcher which was a fairly bad movie but watching Keanu as a serial killer was kind of fun.    That said that was 13 years ago,  he's fat and old now... but I'm guessing since Ultron is a robot (it is right?  It's not like an Iron Man suit?) it's just his voice that they're using, and his body, it'll just be a stuntman in a suit.   I'm also guessing they're going to "garble" the voice to make it sound more like a robot in which case I don't know why there's this big hub-bub about who to cast for it.

He was supreme in Boston Legal. That was a comedy though, but he could probably be an excellent villain.

He's playing a fucking robot.  How hard can it be?  I mean sure he's no Keanu Reeves.

but I'm guessing since Ultron is a robot (it is right?  It's not like an Iron Man suit?)

If memory serves, he was created by someone or something but was based too much on the creator and his lust to increase power and make things serve, and he rebelled against whoever made him and now wants to blow the living shit out of all living things. Basically he's a mental robot with absurd powers (and I think he's even made of adamantium too).

Quite honestly, with his powers you could give him the voice of a teletubbie and he'd still intimidate that crap out of me.

Alright, so it's a robot not a person, so who cares who is the person who is the voice of the robot they're going to digitize the shit out of it most likely anyways.     Hell in fact I think all the hub-bub about getting someone famous to play it is stupid as it is.    Tom Hanks as great as he is was not needed for Woody.

Because famous people sell movies. And if they're famous it's probably because they're good. And if they're good they can probably provide some quality voice acting.
