What firewall do you recommend (especially with cracked games).

Okay, since I am completely fedup with Windows Firewall for many reasons, I am looking for a good and easy to use alternative.
I did a forum search, however most results are outdated (2007 and so on).

Well maybe I don't even need a firewall, but I just want to block programs (as in cracked games) from connecting to the internet.
For example I am currently playing Assassin's Creed III and every time I start up the game, it tries to download an update.

So I guess I am not really looking for a firewall, but more like something which blocks (in this case) ACIII from accessing the internet.

What do you guys use and what do you recommend?

I would find out what port the Assassin's Creed update utility uses and block it through your router.

your router doesn't have a built in SPI?  cuz it's gonna be better than windoze firewall.

Thanks guys.

I have a Asus RT-N66 router with Shibby's TomatoUSB firmware.
However I used that link to simple add block a program from the context menu (as described above) works perfectly.

Highly appreciated. :)

The Windows Firewall in Windows 8 is nice. I didn't have any problem with pirated games so far. Even those whose NFOs recommend to block the game in the firewall (I don't have to block anything myself).

Windows Firewall and Windows Defender because fuck 3rd party protection faggots like Symantec and MacAfee and all the havoc they cause with their system greediness.
