Sony has a message for Microsoft: We’re not screwing up this time. At the company’s E3 2013 press conference on Monday, Sony debuted a defiant, angular design for its box, then proceeded to directly undercut Microsoft’s Xbox One with a both a lower price and more permissive policy on used games.

Why is MS trying to control used games anyways? Shouldn't that be more of a publisher controlled thing?

Fairly positive I'll be getting a PS4 this time around.

They are aiming harder at cloud based games. I mean used games for free work fine when there are only disks but when you have a game linked to your account that all you have to do is download it you need to have some regulation of what you can do with it. Kinda like steam.
I mean, i buy the right to a game and then i can spread it to anyone? It wouldnt work for the publishers.

Cloud based is cool and all but how are they doing it? Is game content going to be streamed or is the whole game going to have to be downloaded? Streaming might work but a good chunk of the assets are probably going to have be preloaded anyways. They say "oh you can just log in to your account on your friends xbox and play your games" but what they aren't saying is "oh, and you'll have to wait 10 hours for the game to download over their shitty DSL connection".

PS4 looks like more of the same, but better. Not exactly any innovation there, but who cares if it plays games well and doesn't spy on you? Might pick up one of these after a while, especially as the Xbox1 is a "no fucking way" choice. From what I see though, the PS4 is going to bury the xbox1.

Afaik it will be just like steam, you download then you play. There will still be disks so you can play it the old the way.

Xbox 1 will come with  a 500 gb hd but it will also support external storage and according to this you will be able to play games by it too

Supposedly E3 XBO hands-on setups were actual pc's running windows 7 and GTX 700s. There are picks floating around.

$399? ... Hell, now I'm itching to pre-order one right now, that's pretty low.
