You''d be a moron to buy either a PS4 or Xbox One. I built a beast of a gaming machine for a friend last week for £650. OK, more than the console prices once they come out, but you don't have to worry about subscription fees, £70 games and then being held at ransom.
I tried watching the launch tonight but after 15 minutes of Kinect talk before moving on to their 'Cloud' ideas I turned it off and refused to go back. That shows exactly what Microsoft want to aim towards...

Will your PC play my PS4 exclusive games? No? Hey, your rant is completely irrelevant then.

The only PS4 exclusives I care about is the Quantum Dreams titles. The rest I don't really care for tbh, Uncharted is one of the most over-rated games I've ever played...

I personally regard the freedom you get from a PC in much higher regard over console exclusives

I'll wait for the E3 presentation to form a better opinion about XBox One. But right now, it's not atractive to non-american people (i doubt most of its tv features will work in Europe).

The hardware is inferior to PS4's. There's the dependancy on Xbox Live, which is paid monthly. There's the necessity to conect online every day to play offline games. There's the attack on second hand games...

It's really not looking good. And it's being trashed by the specialized media.

OTOH, most mainstream press like the event and the XBox One. And that's what Microsoft wants. If gamers want to jump into their bandwagon, cool. If not, they don't really care.

Lots of angry and stupid nerds raging on YouTube and forums at ms over the used game fee not realizing that this was probably due to pressure from larger much more greedy publishers because they've finally realized they lose much more from used game sales than piracy ever could have.

I don't think it's due to greed of publishers; remember NOBODY but the store selling the pre-owned gets a cut of the sale. More money would go to the developers meaning less risk on creating a new IP. It'd be nice to see the gaming industry flourish a bit since publishers only seem to like franchises that are guaranteed money makers.

Several of my console loving friends have expressed a major disappointment at the next gen consoles so far, even going as far to say they're going to skip them and use their cash on PC upgrades instead. Can't say I've seen much to entice me into buying one still, so I might go the same route.

There's the necessity to conect online every day to play offline games.

This is probably the most fucked up thing I've ever seen introduced into the gaming world. I mean, always online is bad enough, but what the fuckity fuck is the reason for this idiotic, retarded, artificial limitation?

I think it is supposed to make harder to mod your console.

Anyway, lets wait for the games, we all know what features the old ones had, maybe they just focused on whats new.

I will certainly buy a new console, I have a fairly decent PC and I rather play it but my gf just plays and whatches me on the xbox 360. I will wait 6 months after the release to decide which one i will get.

When I sell a used sofa, the furniture manufacturer doesn't get a cut of that either.
Why should the videogame industry be any different?

I'm surprised nobody in this thread has mentioned this bullshit yet:
