Yeah point being though, Godzilla was not an epic movie staring Godzilla and Bryan Cranston, it was a movie that starred a couple retarded looking monsters, and some guy with a hot wife that had no reason being in the movie other than to give some hot wife appeal.   But if you look at the trailers, you'd think Cranston was spearing heading this fucker.    Did the same thing with Executive Decision with Steven Segal,   spoiler alert he's dead in the first 5 minutes.

LOL I fucking hate that. I laughed in the theater how the wife in Godzilla was gone within minutes, but when Cranston was gone Im like WTF??? The other bullshit is when they release trailers portraying the film as 2 different genres. Most recently they're doing it to the Judge with RDJr/Duval where one trailer is serious and heartfelt yet another makes it look funny by focusing on Downey being a smartass. I've seen them do this with chick flicks by pushing trailers with more humor to trick guys into going with their gfs.

Did anyone see this yet? I just got back and WOW!

It was intense, mesmerizing, amazing! Hans Zimmer's score is one the best I've heard.

9.5/10

Ok those who saw the movie break this down.

What percentage of the movie is
a) bad shit happening on Earth (both explaining and doing something with it)
b) Cool space traveling shit
c)  Wandering around on random planet having all sorts of human argument/angsty shit going on.

A) About 30-35%. It jumps back and forth due to timelines.
B) 40ish% - It's not Star Trek/Wars, but it's cool.
C) 25% maybe? Some of the on planet stuff is kinda predictable, but it's done pretty well.

Overall it's a great movie.

The movie is great, probably best mainstream sci-fi I have seen in years. Even with a little bit of physics knowledge you can appreciate it and it kinda hides it's weaknesses in the physics department quite well. The drama is delivered very well, so you get the whole package. Mild(subjective)  Hollywood touch in the end after the end might make you cringe a little but the entertainment has been served by then. Of course if you sit and pick it apart a couple of hours afterwards you will find issues in the physics but what the hell, it's still a 9/10.

Same here. My wife and me loved the movie. Sure, rationally speaking, you could pick things apart, specially from the moment they decide to approach Gargantua, but overal it was all well done.

Very emotional too, with a great musical score from Hanz Zimmer (sp?), who's a genius. I was with a knot in my throat in some parts, imagining if Murph was my daughter. My wife empathized more with Murph, due to her deceased father.

But back to the space parts, I loved it. You could feel space's vastness, loneliness, harshness and clustrophobic.

9/10 god bless Nolan. The guy is consistently great, just does not whiff.

One of the rare instances I feel sad that I waited for the disc release and did not watch the movie in the theater.

Indeed. It was worth seeing it in the cinema (or even better in Imax). Amazing experience!
