Does this mean upgrading your current console throughout its lifetime or purchasing a new one every time an upgrade is available?

Pretty interesting stuff. Unsure if it'll be different levels of console released at launch or if hardware upgrades will be possible. Personally I think the ability to upgrade a console is long overdue, it should add new levels of interest to the whole console scene, and hopefully make it all cheaper too.
