Dragon's Dogma (PS3 / X360)
« on: June 04, 2012, 09:10:34 AM »
Anyone into this game? Started it this weekend, and so far I'm impressed. It's the Japanese take on open ended WRPG, from the guys that made Devil May Cry and Resident Evil.

The end result is a game that plays like a cross between Dark Souls and The Elder Scrolls, the biggest difference with most WRPG being that the combat is actually enjoyable.

Another cool aspect is the pawn system, you create characters that join the main hero, but they are also available to other online players. If they use your pawn, they can give it a present for you to use, and your pawn learns about the quests it does, which can help you finding treasure and shortcuts when you do the quest yourself.

Very intriguing, can't wait to get home, light up, and explore some more.

One of the GOTY games for me. I'm lucky the game was leaked before it's release date, it made possible for me to play it a few good hours before my baby was born. Now I pratically can't use my living room for gaming... But I'm looking forward to return to it. I'm level 29, IIRC, having fun and didn't even met the duke yet.

Bought it recently. Cool game. I love it how you can get absolutely raped if you walk into the wrong parts of the lands. Like yesterday, it was night and I wanted to avoid some tough mobs on the road so I went into the woods to go around them. I ended up facing a Chimera. Scared the shit out of me, but I managed to beat it after a long fight and using every potion and plant I had.

Edit: Funny thing happened. I was about to quit playing for the night so I saved and then fucked around attacking some random NPC. I got taken to a dungeon and it saved over all of the saves...

Picked up this game and I can`t stop playing it. My god is it good. Based on some reviews I wasn`t sure if I wanted to drop 60 bucks on a game, But Im glad I did on this one.

I plan to resume playing this game one day. After my daughter was born, I did play it until I reached level 37, during long nights when I was on a licenced leave. Someone had to feed her at 3-4 am, so I stayed awake and took the chance to play the game.

For me, it's one of the GotY contenders.

It's a great game and I spent a good couple of weeks to finish it all the way to new game plus.  Now it's just an rare item hunt.  I wish they come up with a sequel or a proper DLC soon.

Yeah I love this game, but I feel a bit dirty when I use 2 sorcerer pawns and they cast Maelstrom and own bosses in 3 seconds hahaha damn is it funny though, the start of the game was hard but once your get awesome pawns it becomes a bit easy, I started a ranger and then went strider but finally changed to mystic knight, damn does this class kick ass!

lvl 48 onto New game+ after beating the dragon, had no problems with the black chimera or the super goblins so far, but havent wandered far. Don't want to rush it and previously I tried to complete as many side quests as I could but still missed a few theres so many.

Yes and I hope they could bring to PC like they did with dark souls, not sure why when other more horrible Capcom games make it to PC.

If they brought the disaster Resident Evil 6 to the PC, I don't see why won't they post Dragon's Dogma, although it seems unlikely.
