What's the max_execution_time set to in php.ini?

Does the server impose any limits on executing scripts?

Not relevant for the way the convert script works. Trust me, I know what I'm doing.

I appreciate you guys trying to help, but this really is not a straightforward conversion. Unfortunately, we're talking about site content that has migrated several times from 1997-1998ish to different forum software and forum versions :?

I don't think it's worth the aggravation of trying to migrate the old(est) content. Lets just make the switch with what we have ...

It's not that, it's the newer stuff that's fucked. The posts from 2004ish onward. Each time Peng runs the script it randomly shits out somewhere. We got some content from 2008 at one point, but  that's as far as we go.
Unfortunately there's no way just to import the remaining shit.
I'll keep pratce

If the older posts work on this forum what about keeping the phpbb version as an archive on a sub domain or something without posting capability?

I guess one option is to have a "legacy" version of the forum that remains available. This sort of thing can usually be a nightmare to fix, if its even possible to fix.

Indeed one of the 'escape routes' is closing down the old forum for all new posts and threads, and just continuing with the structure / users. The structure, permissions and users import fine, it's just the old 2.1M posts that are being a headache :D

Also, I would like to kindly ask everyone to please not try enumerating the new forum addresses, attempt to exploit phpBB, etc. I do notice and promptly ban for doing so.
