But PS 4 won't get Halo it never has, so thats not why you get a Playstation.
I think your incorrect in saying PC will be ahead of this thing so fast, its dedicated hardware allowing developers to make games that are optimised to run for it specifically and thus allow it to stay ahead because they will learn to get more out of it as time goes on and thus the games will get better looking making PC that needs so many different configurations to support, as well as run windows in the background the inferiour platform for a while, and 8GB GDDR as a standard for what people have in their PC will take at least 2 years I think.

The PC will be technologically ahead of the PS4 (it already is). However, that's not relevant, as games are made for the consoles and then ported to PCs. My computer is from 2009 and still runs almost anything on maximum settings. I didn't upgrade it nor even reinstall the OS or anything, since I bought it.

Maybe with the PS4 and X720 the games may take a leap forward (although not as big as in previous generations, publishers can't keep escalating development costs) and force me to upgrade to keep up. But except for indies, I can't come up with a name of an AAA game exclusive to PC or made primarily for PC (Maybe The Witcher 2?). SO as long as consoles keep being the primary focus, there's no need to worry about buying a new computer or to upgrade it.

metal gear solid then. who gives a fuck it's all garbage anyway.

hardware becomes old regardless of how shit is developed for it. you would have to halt all the research and development that goes into computer technology if you want the consoles to stay on top for the entire duration of their lifespan.

pc has always had superior graphic capabilities and it will always have superior graphic capabilities. the new generation consoles will have its 15 minutes of fame and the sheep will be in awe of the advertisements provided by the propaganda machine, but eventually it'll all fade away and you'll be wishing games looked as good on your age old console as they do on pc.

is starcraft 2, diablo 3, shogun, arma 2, crysis and crysis warhead not aaa games?

also, some mmos can be classified under aaa and they're pc exclusive.

But some games I really want to play are not on PC. So why not have both, right?
What games though? Halo, one of the most over-rated franchises of all time, Killzone and Gears of War. The only ones that ever tempt me toward a console is the Quantic Dreams ones (Heavy Rain, etc). But for me it isn't enough to warrant splashing out another £400. I honestly believe we'll see less and less exclusives as publishers and developers will need the extra income and will want to take advantage of the same architecture.
As Chomiq said, games will be much easier to develop cross platform next gen. We already have a lot of console games that come out on PC, so then they'll be even more optimized...

Well I don't know about what will be out on PS4 but stuff like

Ni No Kuni
Metal Gear Rising
Bayonetta
Vanquish
Suda51's games
Red Dead Redempion

is not stuff I want to miss because why exactly? You're a PC purist that brings up brown and boring shit like Killzone and Gears of Wars as a comparison? Whatevs :D

I got the Wii U already. Don't know if I'll get a PS4. The remote play with Vita (which I already have) may lead me to get one eventually. I'll wait and see how impressive the games look. The 1080p bottleneck seems significant.

Right you'd have to develop taste first, sorry. Also thanks for conveniently replying to that small part of my post.

PC exclusives > Playstation exclusives > Nintendo exclusives > Xbox exclusives

The PC has entire genres which aren't available on other platforms plus it has my favorite 'exclusives' such as every game you control with a mouse. Playstation has some nice stuff like MGS, Final Fantasy (back then), Suikoden, Disgaea, SotC etc. Nintendo has Mario and Zelda. I can't think of any Xbox exclusive I'd want to play as I dislike GoW and Halo. So once the PS4 drops in price I might get one just to game some titles I missed..
