i got caught by isonews with the firstlooks. some were funny, some were useful, hardly both :P but they were content unique to the site.
layouts, thumbnails and such are for graphics whores u_u

Mr. Penguin has been otherwise busy with IRL stuff, but he is working on fixing the DB so that we can convert to SMF. He has expertise in this area, so we're leaving it to him.

If anyone knows what they're doing, and can lend a hand, and has time, then we're open to offers of help.

For more detail:

I've gotten SMF to work just fine, but the main problem is converting the old database. As it turns out the old database has some serious corruption in it. This does not otherwise impair phpBB from functioning 'normally', but it does crash SMF's importer script. I need to implement some workarounds for that before I can try reimporting again.

Yes, I've been busy with IRL stuff, but not too busy to figure out the above :)
