What was the first game that made you drool at the screen?
it could`ve been the graphics, prog skill, playability or anything.

ill go first with the C64 version of Turrican, the graphics were great for an 8-bit the sound great too,but  to me it was the playability and scale of the awesome game that got me hooked and cost me many sleepless nights.

Impossible Mission for the C64, mostly because of the synthesized speech.

Hmm, my earliest memories are of Apple IIe pac-man and the original super mario brothers for NES. So the first game to really wow me? Probably Mario 64. The transition to true 3D was mind-blowing.

Zorro on Atari. I was 9 or so at that point and was amazed by graphics and general gameplay (sword fighting + platforming). Music was awesome too.

There were older games that did stand out, but the first game to really WOW me, was Ultima VII: Black Gate.

Gateway to Apshai.  So much fun exploring and killing shit.  And a very deep dungeon romp (for the time).

Duke3D no doubt.

The game had actual real levels that were fun and interesting, not random rooms/hallways like doom and wolfenstein.

And then playing it for the first time by calling your bud on the modem (Modem string: AT&F) oh shit so classic, i think i feel a teardrop...
