Anyone with WODE experience?

Looking to get a device to play image files files from a newer Wii unit rather than burnt disks.

Saw a couple out there, the WiiKey fusion seems to be able to do it via SDHC flash, which I don't know how down with that I'd be.

FlatMii says it can do it via USB but seems that you need a laptop and you run software via that through to the Wii.

WODE seems to be a neat option, although a bit on the pricey side, however I really like the idea of just hooking up an external HD and playing that way.

I haven't played my Wii for a while, but from what I can remember, you can Soft Mod, and install a usb loader channel on it. The one that I used was USB-Loader GX or some shit. From there you can store Wii images on your USB flash drive and play from there. You shouldn't have to buy anything, just need a SD card to setup the exploit.

How stupid proof is the USB loader route though? I don't want to have to play tech support on something I don't even fully understand.   Last thing I want is a call that a Wii doesn't work to find out its bricked, because of some update or something blah blah blah.

It is stupid proof, if my friend can use it , anyone can.
You can update USB Loader GX by using the update feature in the program - better than updating fucking mod chips.
FlatMii is the retarded cousin of USB Loader.

1) soft mod exploit
2) install USB Loader
3) run games from USB drive or external hard drive.

Pretty easy instructions. I have a 120gb HDD hooked up to my Wii and thats how I play all my games.

I use Wii Backup Manager to load them onto the drive.

Bravo sounds good enough, with a minimal amount of additional hardware needed.

I swear I feel like a dad on christmas eve trying to figure out how the bike I bought my kid goes together.
