I've read the comic... It's pretty good. Gave up after like 25 episodes though. Worth checking out though.

It could be good, but it will never do justice to the comic.

Whenever a movie or something comes out based on a comic book a bunch of nerds chime in saying it can't beat the comics. I think to myself, maybe I should check out the comic. After that brief moment passes I remember I never gave a damn about comic books and never will.

Bring on this show.

It's not about how good the comics are, it's more about the subject matter and the explicit content. They're going to strip it down and castrate it. Maybe if this was HBO I'd have more hope.

Its AMC not some basic station like NBC or Fox. From the pics and what not thats come out, it looks pretty solid so far. AMC has done well with Mad Men and Breaking Bad...

Yes, I know it's AMC, but AMC can't even say fuck more once per season, or something.

AMC gives me hope but they're bound to screw something up or bring something bland. I just want to see some quality undead feeding on the living, some of whom I want to see escape at the last minute and others I yell at the TV to be torn apart while screaming.

How long can they stretch out a zombie story? We'll see in 3 months.

I'll check out the comic series (and TV :P). I found links for #1 to #63 and according to Wikipedia, there are currently 75 issues.

AMC has posted the full trailer online, and announced the series' official premiere date: October 31 at 10 PM EST. Yes, the dead will rise on Halloween night this year, and I couldn't be happier about it.

According to the site, the series will kick off with a 90-minute premiere, then follow with 60-minute episodes. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Frank Darabont ("Shawshank Redemption," "The Mist"), the series has an initial six-episode order, but let's all cross our fingers and hope for more to follow, shall we?

I hate short seasons for new series'.

Sounds like a bad idea debuting it on halloween, since lots of people won't be home watching it.
