The problems I have with this phone:

- it's made by Apple
- it's overpriced
- it has a giant LCD screen which is dead easy to scratch
- very likely no removable battery
- I don't like carrying very expensive things in my pocket day in day out
- Mac OS X
I agree. Besides, this thing will get dirty in seconds.

I think these big clunky phones are dumb, not to mention the 2MP camera is already outdated and this phone isn't even out yet.  5 hour battery life and horrible non-upgradeable storage...  Fuck that shit, it's too expensive for what you get.  And I can see many people hitting their thighs on a table corner and smashing the phones screen in.

You ain't lying...this thing is fucking insane, I'm almost surprised they didn't put a hard drive in it.

You can quote me on this - it will be a bigger success than the ipod.

i dont quite see that happening, as the cellphone market is MUCH more cutthroat than the mp3 market.

i see it doing fairly well tho; alot of ipod users trust the apple brandname and will probably get unlocked ones (b/c cingular suck ass).

if it looks as good as it sounds and works, i'm totally going to get one. the most attractive feature is that it has wifi so you can actually surf the internet without having to buy another internet ISP plan from a cell carrier while they ream you in the ass.

also, cingular unlocks any of their phones if you are on their network for 3 months or more.

It looks ok but I was just reading about how another company owned the name "iPhone" and released a product with that name already.  Also, they had bought out a company which released an "iPhone" in '97.

I wonder if Apple bought the rights to it or if something else happened.
Well, Apple got sued.

Can't belive Apple is trying to get through with this shit, hopefully they'll lose the case badly. Here's the real iPhone.

Heh, Cisco is going to nail them. They have alot more cash to throw around than apple does. Also, it's not as if it will hurt Ciscos image either.

i read somewhere they use a new kind of material for the casing so its less resistant to scratching.

im down to get it, as long as its in a reasonable price range, would 350 be too much?  i liked the fluidity of changing menu screens and such.

If this gadget was 300 (the currently 600 version) with contract or 500 without contract, I would buy it.

Cisco sues Apple for violating their trademark. Cisco owns the trademark "iPhone" through their subsidiary Linksys who has owned the name since 2000.

I have a $99 cell with a flashlight built in the top.
I get free incoming calls all the time and free calls after 6pm.

Never needed to change in years.

The flashlight idea was actually useful - I've even used it going through the forest when coming back from a hike at night - what the fuck is up with all of these MP3 phones?  I listen to music a lot...I don't want to finish listening and realize I just drained my cell phone's power and now can't call people.
