4) If you are going to post some kind of short or generic vid, whether it be humorous or whatever, use the Vid Dump Thread. For the more news-worthy or profound/lengthy material, you can make a separate thread. And no, you won't be banned if you screw up, so don't wet yourselves. Threads will just be locked and the post moved to the Vid Dump. Same applies for pictures. If you find a funny pic of a monkey wearing a dress, or you need help deciphering a letter on some sign in the background of a pic, well we really dont need whole new threads for this type of thing. Just post it in the Picture Dump Thread.

5a) Apparently people need this written in stone as well. YES, NO REQUESTING APPLIES HERE TOO. Actually, it applies GLOBALLY. Most know this, but people try getting around this by requesting invitations to torrent sites. That too, IS NOT PERMITTED, SO QUIT MAKING THREADS AND ASKING PEOPLE HERE. Go to that sites forum or irc channel and ask them. If you can't because its private, well tough, that isn't our problem. This site doesn't exist to help with that kind of thing whatsoever. If you are caught asking/requesting about this, you are banned. Don't say you weren't warned.

5b) Dont link to sign-up pages either, intended to inform people about some new and hot, alabama-slammin-jammin torrent site. People can find them on their own, so dont advertise them here.

Well some users (mostly the worst spammers initially) were also unbanned today (cause we're FUCKING NAZIS AND WE HATE EVERYONE) in the hope that people will get along.
The reality is that we have relaxed it in the hopes that people don't ruin it for themselves. We expected a shit-show when we stopped moderating and it was partly the case, but once it leveled off it wasn't so terrible. Hopefully we don't have to moderate much in the future and we can focus on making other parts of the site better.

And, Jotaro, try reading the rules. It says nothing about bumping old threads. If someone bumps 50 of them in a row, that arguably falls under the preventing someone from accessing the site clause, as the site they're accessing is more or less useless at that point.

psh, that didn't stop the ass that temp banned me for 5 or 7 days because i bumped an old thread. no warning, no PM, never went on a spam/SIP/dupe thread-starting spree, nothing. i've been here for over 6 years and that was my only temp ban which is a pretty good indicator that i'm not here to fuck things up and make things difficult for mods.
