And the stuff about not cracking, yes, group leaders never do shit tbh. They are there for managing the sites, and keeping the group together.

I sense there is a lot of hate in this thread.  For me, it was an interesting read and if any of the material that he wrote is true or not, I'm not going to judge at all.  I just don't get why people are so negetive towards him - calling him a liar and saying he thinks he was a ocassional "copier".  Don't forget he was part of the scene where his group released a lot of games and most of us just leeched and played.  Just because he is no longer useful to any of us, doesn't mean we can just shit on his head.  I guess its human nature when we start to cry about how the scene is dead, no one is cracking anymore and we turn around and spit on the people who are no longer useful to us.

The whole 'scene' thing and IRC was so addiciting for me when I was younger. It was really stupid overall. I got to the point where I quit going out and partying from when I was 14 til I was 16 because I was so addicted to it. From 16-18 I was still in it and was about to start releasing shit for a group after I'd spent thousands on computer hardware. Then it just hit me. Why? What's the overall point. I used to download all these games and apps and movies and I never put any of them to use. I probably played a handful of the games I had then threw them out. Right at the end of high school I was partying more and doing more fun things and the whole IRC thing just took up to much time and wasn't worth it. I could just go on P2P sites and download the few things I was after and not worry about having '0sec' connections. 6 months after I quit the group I was supposed to be ripping for got busted. Made me think and smile. I was glad I was out when I was. Things only got worse over the years. Now I use my computer just as much but for more productive things like making $ playing poker and doing stock trading. I now just download TV shows, a movie here or there and mp3s. It's much better this way overall. No risk, more time away from it and I enjoy it much better nowadays. Take advice from this guy for all you 'hardcore' sceners, it ain't worth it. This guy knows better than anyone. Also read the previous guy's post from a few years ago, I believe he was busted in 2000 or 2001 and wrote about his experiences. Of course some people have absolutely no life and stay on IRC 24/7 because their 'leet' and it's probably the closest thing to friends that they have.
