What are the best TV series?
« on: July 05, 2005, 04:26:58 AM »
I started watching LOST. Just saw three episodes in a row. The show is fantastic and the plot seems to be very strong. If anyone is remotely interested in TV series, LOST is a must see!

10/10 so far.

Nobody here likes Arrested Development? I think it's very original and funny as hell.
I concur. I just watched the first episode of season 1 a couple of months ago and I thought it was hilarious, so now I've finished the entire season. Want to see season 2 now. Also I think NewsRadio is a good show too, never heard of it until a few months ago, but ya I love Phil Hartman's character almost as much as the voices he did for The Simpsons. Too bad he's six feet under now.

I finished watching the 1st season of Lost. This is the best TV show that I've seen so far. 4400 is in the distant 2nd place. I am yet to see 24 and the Shield though.

Anyway, the mystery and constant tension is what's most attracting about Lost. J.J. Abrams the writer and producer is a genius. It's great that he is the director of Mission Impossible 3.

Can't wait for Season 2. Seriously!

P.S. That island security system, do you guys think it's organic or is it artificial like a robot of some kind? Also, those polar bears were most likely spawned by Walt's imagination (from that comic book he was looking through). That is probably why the "others" took him. Also, I hope Sawyer did not die. He is the most interesting of all the show's characters followed closely by John Locke.

I saw Sopranos, all seasons in fact. I think it's great but nowhere nearly as good as Lost.

Some really good TV shows coming out everywhere.

I hear HBO's Rome (Rome.S01E01.HDTV.XviD-TV) got excellent reviews. FOX's Prison Break (Prison.Break.S01E01.HDTV.XviD-LOL) aired tonight. Also, National Geographic has done a very good (from what I've read) mini-series on Mafia.

Code: [Select]
The.Mafia.E01.Mafia.What.Mafia.PDTV.XviD-MG
The.Mafia.E02.Going.Global.PDTV.XviD-MG
The.Mafia.E03.The.Great.Betrayal.PDTV.XviD-MG
The.Mafia.E04.The.Godfathers.PDTV.XviD-MG
A new sci-fi CBS TV show coming out soon called Threshold, I hear that should be good as well.

Also, just strated watching the 2nd season of Deadwood, great show it is.

What are you guys watching atm? Anyone else heard of other upcoming TV shows?

EDIT: Also, should I sticky this thread? Might prove useful like the Undiscovered Asian Movies thread.

well i think sopranos is boring. ok, it may be realistic, but i always found mobsters and mobster life to be pathetic and uninteresting. so they bitch to their shrinks, are assholes to their families, joke around, whatever. it's all so mundane and it bores me to tears.

for the record: i can's stand watching 24 either. didn't bother with lost or 4400 yet, but they at least have a more intriguing premisse.
I hate people, but I love gatherings.

I watched the last episode of Six Feet Under and nearly cried like a bitch. There. I said it.

:P

Good series though. Amazing acting for the most part. HBO makes some of the best shit to ever be put on TV.
I'll keep pratce
