I think I need it cause I am not going to install P2P for this.

ps- I am not sure if this movie is postable but according to the nfo and the site it is freeware, so it could be uploaded to a website and posted here.... If I am wrong I appoligize.

No big group will do that.. you can't compare tv/xvid etc with games/apps (which needs to be cracked)

Whos talking about cracking?  If you're willing to run a site for any small group, you're in.  After that you build contacts and move your way up to the bigger groups.

Yeah, it is freeware. Technically, isn't that a reason for nuking it on sites? :O

BTW, that name Rebbeca Brandt, they don't mention in those .nfo's, but these are her own words - "I was honored to be hired by Sony Corporation of America and am currently working as an analyst in the Broadband Services Company."

Now tell me that isn't an interesting piece of information.

IMO, this is actually not to shocking. Sony have gone out and employed, I think from doing some digging, a load of people to basically infiltrate the 'scene'. Think about it realistically, Sony probably loose more than anyone else in piracy. They have big stakes in movies, music & games. Not very many companies can boast that to the extent Sony can. How hard is it for them to fund a small project with a few nice lines and recruit some curries in public channels over a couple of months? You also have the advantage that curries tell their friends, who in turn tell their friends, etc. In a matter of hours you can have people racing shit like mad.

Now a lot of companies could have done this a long time ago,  but piracy has really reached an ever increasing high thanks more than anything due to the 'joy' of BitTorrent. That piece of software has alone pissed more companies off than anything else.

Before long, given that their sites are good (which i'm guessing they are given Sony's possible budget on a project this important), pre times increase until they basically reach source on a lot of groups. Anyway, i'm sure a lot of people with some intelligence and a good personality could talk there way into a lot of places.

One more thing I want to leave you with is this....

Sony, being who they are in this project, can quite happilly cough up a real nice early DVD screener, pre-release album, early PS2 game, even all three if they like (safe in the knowledge it probably won't even eat into profit that much anyway (hell, it's gonna get pirated anyway, huh?)) to get into somewhere as well. They can for sure get shit to groups on some stuff before anyone else. That I can guarentee.

Anyway, I really don't give a shit what anyone says, Sony did just send a major warning to anyone interested that they are out there and they are watching and they do definately mean business. Watch how their little fake drama show pans out, I bet any money the guy gets busted in the end. I'm taking heed from the information I posted earlier and rethinking shit, you guys do whatever.

This is really sad. I don't like to consider myself part of the scene ever... This group is a fake. They are just trying to show you how it all works "internally." Eventually in their later episodes, they will probably setup some fake ass servers to show you how it gets out and all. I have never been part of the scene but I know enough to know how it works from the start. I have seen sites that have had DEViANCE (dead I know) and many other great release groups as their affils on their sites. I have seen as big as 8 TB servers and 10GBIT sites. Getting into the scene is quite difficult especially with the busts recently in the past year. If you have a "100mbit line," your not going to get into the scene... You need to have access to unreleased crap to get in. If you don't then it's not worth your time to waste it asking to join release groups. The only way you can get into a "release group" with a server is by supplying 1GBIT+ sites. So unless your a filthy bitch that doesn't know what to do with his cash, or have access to unreleased crap then you can just stop trying to get in. Stick to your "l33t" sources such as P2P programs.

This is mitosisX signin' OUT!

So who cares if everybody will know how the scene works and how people act? More to look alike - harder to find the most scary ones ;)

Totally fake.

No one who gets a pre-release movie just lets it sit on the desk for 20 minutes before ripping it.

Scene security is blah. Dont like it dont be in it. It's not going to get better because it's 'run' by a bunch of fucking kids...

9 digits, and starts with a 3? What a newb.

And 6Hz is right, Bittorrent is going to do massive damage. I have friends who think you need to buy a new computer if you get a virus lol, and even they leech shit of Bittorrent. When I saw it I was speachless.

It is amazing watching them progress. This girl, leeches movies/music off BT, she cant open RARs (but XP can open ZIPs with built it archiver). So she clicks on the BT link, the thing starts up, she goes, and manually looks into the folder she is leeching, if it is/has RARs she cancelles, and if not she keeps leeching.

If I havent told her, she'd probably figure out to type in ".rar" into google in a couple of months.

Conclusion? We are doomed. DOOOMED!

Intresting times indeed.

"With the recommendations put forward by the task force, the department is prepared to build the strongest, most aggressive legal assault against intellectual property crime in our nation's history," U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft said.

I think that sums up what is going to happen. Massive increases at law enforcement activity. The real scene is going to take a massive amount of heat for this. Let's see how much resources they are going to use on the coming raids or are they just bluffing.

Runned by a bunch of kids is arguable but the fact of the matter is, the feds are always and will be smarter.
