Please don't talk about Derek Smart in this thread. On topic, thanks for the FL, now someone just needs to review HL2 too. I've yet to try this game out, I'm hoping for a similar RPG experience as in SS2 or Deus Ex except in a different theme and mood. I hope I'm not far off with those expectations.

HL2 is game of the century..fcuk GOTY.. best game ever made imho.. I am not a real big gamer and get bored as hell easily with all games in general.. this one had me playing for hours on end.. lol now im just taking a break b4 another 24 hour stretch..fuck work..
:)

Nice review as usual bud, totally agree on this, definatly one of the best games I've ever played. I've had like 4 hours of sleep a night since this came out and havent even touched HL2 yet because of it.

same here, same here. and why are there no HL2 firstlooks yet? funny, that.

i think ill probably like it better than hl2. I mean, hl2 is awesome and all that, but can it really engage me and entertain me like vamp?

Yeah, tons of bugs in this game, but so far I havn't seen anything that affects gameplay (been stuck in doors before though).  I can't beleive a game this unpolished could be so fun.  If this thing looked, ran, and was polished as nice as Half-Life 2 is, it would definately be a serious game of the year contender... easily beating Half-Life 2 as fun as it is.  Soooo addicting.  Great story too.  Nice FL.

After completing both games now I must say I had more fun on Vamp, HL2 is undoubtably an AMAZING game but it just lacks any depth, Vamp oozzessss it from every pore, I've already started this game again and already im finding a bunch of stuff I didnt see first time, and playing like an asshole this time instead of a nice vamp.

Its VERY close to what I would consider GOTY so far but I think that this gets it just for me, its just a shame its unpolished in its current state.

Game of the year. Game of the FUCKING year. Makes Doom 3 look like a fucking tech demo, Far Cry look like a minor distraction, and Half Life 2 look like a overhyped simplistic run of the mill shooter.

This is the best game I've played in years, even WITH the bugs.

That's because D3 is a tech demo.

Couldn't help posting to this since it's my first time visiting this particular subforum, but give me a break!

This game instantly reminds me of DX2, and if you fellows had taken the time to play it when it was released (even if it had slow loading due to slower computers at that time) you'd notice so many similarities in the way the story plays out, how it looks, and the whole faction thing. The game is okay, but later on the game sort of forces you to engage in fights, and if you didn't concentrate your skills on fighting (since the majority part of the game offers open-ended options) you might find difficulty progressing end-game. That's the only real complaint I had, but it is a pretty big one considering the sudden changing in offering options for completion, and requiring the use of character altering in order to even finish the game.
