I found this FL to be very biased, as it's really entitled to be.

but for some reason I can't be arsed to get into the whole modern underground vampire scene, as it has never interested me.

bias?

Anyways, the FL was great and very detailed, good work.
yep

Good job Requiem.  I haven't played the game yet, but now I'm very tempted.

obviously its biased, some people like certain rpg games and some dont. That doesnt mean its a bad review, its not. you can easily tell if u will like the game from it if u lik ethat type

and i agree that the gfx are great. sure theres the occasional bad model or texture, but overall theyre superb. So many times im staring at a characters face and thinking "that looks like a real live human face"

but maybe it's cause no one can play it in high enough resolution to enjoy it lol

great review and i actually like vampire better than HL2 so far, but that may change as ive only played hl2 for 2 hours

nice FL...I skipped the spoliers though =D

I'll definitely buy this game in a few weeks....hell, I might even play halfway through HL2 and start this one up just to relish the 2 best games of the year at the same time(Doom 3 not goty material imo).

I loved Deus Ex and I did like Deus Ex 2.

See the contrast? I don't know. Although DX2 wasn't immersive at all and not nearly as cool, interesting and good-looking as DX, I did play through and I was positive-minded about the outcome. Maybe my imagination of DX expectations counted for interest in DX2. It wasn't the greatest game on Earth, but DX almost was. It was a lot to live up to.

Anyway, as I'm reading these replies, I'm just amazed. I'm gonna give this game another try, since I simply cannot comprehend the hubbub. So far to me this is just another Manhunt, but that's just me...

Wow... you've got some classics.

Please stop now, although you couldnt possibly dig yourself deeper. Unless of course you state that Derek Smart is the best developer ever, then I'd have to kill you...

Please don't talk about Derek Smart in this thread. On topic, thanks for the FL, now someone just needs to review HL2 too. I've yet to try this game out, I'm hoping for a similar RPG experience as in SS2 or Deus Ex except in a different theme and mood. I hope I'm not far off with those expectations. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a modern 3d RPG, Gothic 2 was nice, and Morrowind was ok at first until it just became a repetitive and boring walking simulator (as someone so well put it).

The stragest thing. On my rig: P4 2,4B, 1GB ram, R9800 pro the game runs acceptable. Even the fight at the train station never went below playing fps. I can't say it runs perfect, but it's playable enough.
The game sure competes for Game of the Year, no doubt, and even if I haven't played HL2 I hear it's 100% linear and that can't be good, though the hype and publicity will ensure it gets first place, at least on comercial web-sites.
What else can I say... Requiem99 is the best reviewer (or should i say previewer) out there. Keep up the good work man. Congratulations once again.

Good review.

I am playing as a bitch with glasses, anyways, in the club, when you go on the dancefloor, its like DDR damnit. The bitch got moves yo.

Seriously, I spent like 15 mins eating, while watching her bust them moves out.

Also, the dialogues are incredible,

Try to pick up a girl, while playing as a girl "Soo.. umm.. college huh? Ever wanna experiment.... no?"

Or annoy some bitch by trying to pick her up 20 times "Psst, can I whisper something in your ear? FUCK OFF". Hahaha great.

What does suck is the buginess, and the fact that they made this game for PC's with like 256 megs of ram. Fucking loading times everywhere. Anyone who can afford a $60 dollar game, can afford another stick of ram.

Btw, gamespot gave this game 7.8 lmao. Dumb cunts.

The fights in the train station (inside with 3-5 guys at a time) went below 5 fps. Totally unplayable.
