Good FL. I totally agree with you.

When you come out of your apartment at the beginning I immediately thought of Deus Ex (1) which was my all time fave.

The RPG elements are great and the blood magic excellent. On my rig (P3.2, 1024 DDR, G6800GT) it was playable with everything maxed and 1600x1200 and smooth as silk at the next res down (same for HL2 btw)

As for GOTY, I'm afraid that HL2 is just to good to give this a look in. So far I would say top 3 =

1. Half-Life 2
2. Vampire Bloodlines
3. Doom 3 (Yes I though it was excellent)

Just realised Im waffling off topic a bit now so I'll stop

Oktup

Very good FL! Agreed on all points. Nice that you brought up the haunted house (difficult not to :) ). I really fucking wanted out of there, that shit was just to much for my nerves.

I've played through what I estimate is half the second hub and I can only continue to praise this game, so you don't have to worry about getting disappointed by the rest of it (maybe the ending though, you never know).

For those of you who have played the Vampire pen & paper (or LARP I guess) game: You don't have to worry, it is (as far as possible) according to the White Wolf rules, story, clans, archetypes, whatever.

Tried it a few hours ago ... Nice game, although the gfx sometimes remind me of DX2 :) Dunno, some lowres textures or bad bumpmapping, and subpar framerate compared to, say, CS:S ... Oh well, it's quite nice anyway. Especially the windows in your house, best glass effect I've ever seen ! (didnt play HL2 yet :))
The fist fighting sequences are sucky/unplayable but not really bothering for now, as the foes are quite weak. I play a Toreador, btw, hoping to get as much dialog fun as I had with Torment :)
Yep, voices are excellent, and the politically incorrect cursing is refreshing !
I guess I'll remap the use function to RMB to make it more DX-like.
This game has potential ... It's rather enjoyable for now. Wouldnt rate it as high as Requiem99, but it'll prolly get better and better as the story unfolds :)

After reading the FL, I guess I should have took a girl, I'd love the lesbian stuff :) (wasnt too tempted to hit on guys ...)

PS: kri is a sad fuck for posting such pointless hate comment for a FL ! Keep your shit for the main thread ! Write your own FL if you dare !

Lol.

Yeah, great review, xept the spoilers witch I (obviously) didn't read.

And about that cherry poppin', he says that to the guy too so it ain't nothing dirty. I'm sure you knew this but it sounds like he means it litterary.

I know, I was not specifically referring to the girl. It was the fact he said that phrase at all.

Screens sure dont look like 10/10 :D
But maybe it all moves unrealistically well or something ;)

But hey, if you like a game its easy to add a little extra score to all parts, thats quite common for all of us I believe.

I did say in the review the screens looked like shit compared to how the game world looks. ;)

Dude, talk about over-rated. The graphics aren't 9/10 quality. Doom3 is barely 9/10 quality. And gameplay 10?! Sure it's an RPG, but still. The only category close getting a 9 or a 10 is sound, since voice acting is really well done.

I don't like this game. It's amateurish, it's full of bugs, it's ugly and, for me, not immersive at all. I found this FL to be very biased, as it's really entitled to be. People seem to have been expecting this for so long, that imagination is filling in for the lack of a great game for many people. I loved Deus Ex and I did like Deus Ex 2. I also like the Thief series, but for some reason I can't be arsed to get into the whole modern underground vampire scene, as it has never interested me. Anyway, you gotta admit graphics are sub-par in the game.

It's my two cents. Don't bitch about my two cents.

Your 2 cents are not even worth the copper they were imprinted on. You liked Deus Ex 2? Get the fuck out of my thread, kthxbye.

Great FL, exactly my thoughts. This game is outstanding and really does deserve all the praise it can get

And DX2, lol crappy POS.
