Finally!
I heard that it's a brilliant movie, despite the low attendances at the theatres.

What a mindfuck.

This one is for the fans of "Amelie" and "Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind" of which I am one.

It deals with lost love, depression and the laws of time and space and it does so with an elegance and beauty I haven't witnessed in a long time.

I will find myself coming back to this movie, sometimes only to watch specific scenes again as the cinematography and the acting is above top shelf.

I can understand why it haven't made much money as it seems to be wholly uncompromising in its execution, somehow the director must have managed to maintain complete control throughout.

Anyways, watch it, if you rate this below 4/5 you need to either re-watch it or kill yourself.

i remember wanting to see this movie a long time ago from the trailer where they show the scene with him running after his mom, then they do the 2 different lives thing. i unfortunately thought that was the time travelers wife. but after watching this i now realize this was the movie i wanted to see. it was a good movie, crazy makes you think. made me think really hard anyway.

I hope this gains a cult status with the DVD/blu-ray release because it deserves it..
I was just perusing new movies and since there had been no new movies released in weeks, I checked IMDB for this.
It had 35 seeders and not very much interest it seemed. But in reality this actually had a budget of 38 million USD, and so it's more than just an indie flick..

The cinematography and coloring is amazing, and the story is engaging and personal while at the same time they brought in elements of sci-fi and a look into the future. It perfectly represents the human condition I feel with how it goes into time and string theory and sci-fi, but at the same time it is very much about love, loss and emotion.

Acting and everything was top notch, and there are some comedic moments that work well too.

For me this is one of those unique movies that we are treated to every now and then.. Others being The Matrix, Donnie Darko, Cube, Shawshank Redemption etc..

I liked this movie and had been waiting for it forever... It was pretty confusing though and had I not hoped for a better ending I would have probably turned it off. That being said, after reading more about it online I could probably watch it again with more enjoyment.

I really liked it, my eyes were glued to the screen the whole movie and I think I understood most of it.

What a brilliant movie! Intelligent and thought provoking, but well executed and told so that everyone should be able to follow without making it too easy.

A small gem and a must see for all Donnie Darko fans.

i dont know what this scene is you speak of, but if we've all seen it and you are still trying to find a copy, maybe its time you found a new method of getting releases.

That's the one I watched too. It was nuked for CBR tho, so might a bit difficult to find. Overall quality was very good. You could also get some randomly tagged crappy P2P release as acme420 recommends.

Not rating the movie but rest assured I didn't like it much except for the visuals and cinematography.

Yes we are on TPB, that's how we get all the scene releases. Wait, what?

One of the main positives of the scene is quality control and nuking.. Anybody can release anything on p2p and nobody can see if it's bad until they download, and commenters etc are not as strict as the scene.

The point is that crap doesn't last very long in the scene, while on p2p it spreads and is there almost forever and thousands of people will be downloading out of sync or other crap.

That said, there are many good rips that aren't scene, and are fully qualified to be released, but the lack of quality control makes it harder to know if you have a perfect rip.

The release I have posted here is more than perfect. Image and audio both are top notch.

Also, if you are so hesitant to download non-scene movies, there are plenty of private trackers that post images of the releases, and many people comment on audio/video, so waiting 10 or so minutes until someone posts about its quality can solve your issue. instead of watching vcdq or prebots... waiting for the nuke.

"The scene" is an archaic structure holding to archaic bullshit rules. Especially with HD there are HQ non-scene releases. Too bad the dispersion rate of such releases is low, but they can be found easily if one knows what to look for.

You can diss it all you want, but the scene has provided more useful content than any other "group" or organization of releasers and continue to do so.
Games and apps are usually always scene, and most movies on private trackers is scene.
The one media type that stands out is music, because it's so simple to rip and encode..

p2p and especially torrent people came on in the late 00s and have no clue about the history of piracy and hate on the scene, constantly looking like noobs.. You got nothing to say so shut up about it.

What relevance does the history have concerning quality releases? I know the history, I simply don't give a shit about it. I was commenting about movie releases, not games/music or whatever. There are some communities out their which deliver higher quality HD releases the scene can't even come close to with their l33t bullshit "laws".

Phenomenal movie, I don't think I've ever seen a movie so beautifully shot. Truly a masterpiece.

I'm not sure I really 'got' the ending. Anybody have any interpretations?

Is this a mindfuck movie just to be a mindfuck movie or is there a point? I hate movies which try to be 'artistic' just to be different.

I didn't think this was difficult to understand, actually everything is explained more or less in the movie and interpreted in a magic-realistic way - it's an allegory above all else.

It's explained in the end.

Spoiler alert!!!!!!!!1

Most of the movie is imagined by Nemo the moment when he's 9 and deciding to live with his mom or his dad. As he is able to see the future, he lives all possible futures in his imagination that branch from this one decision.

In the end, it turns out that both choices either gets him killed somehow or doesn't bring him to his love, so he invents a third universe, by choosing not to choose. In this possible future he makes no choices at all but always flips a coin instead. It is in this universe that he meets his love at the pier and becomes 117 years old.

When he decides this is the right 'future', he simply goes back. This is the big crunch at the end, where everything goes backwards until the point where he's 9 making this decision.

I think this is how it is, more or less.

I figured that much...

SPOILER

For some reason I was assuming there was a bit more to that, some sort of string theory connection (since it was brought up earlier).

they used the string theory to explain parallel worlds. 4 dimensional (1 world), more for more worlds

With the string theory they explain that all branched off universes are actually real and exist parallel to each other. This means that there is no single 'real' reality, but actually an unlimited amount, which are all equally important.

But it's not so that Nemo can travel from one parallel universe to another (which was what I thought at first). He can 'only' project himself in the future and live in each possible universe at the same time in his imagination.

This is what I call a FUCKING good movie. It somehow managed to take my deepest thoughts about space and time and put it in visual form. Great performances by everyone. Even the kids.

5 star busting movie, it gets 10 out of 5 stars from me.
