Based on the graphic novel by the guy who did Wanted. This looks far more faithful compared to the movie version of Wanted.

And Laughing @ Nic Cage.

Yeah but if they did Wanted like the comic then it would have been overly long and probably not make much sense. I mean really villains who go through a dimensional portal to kill other heroes along with the inter crimelord wars started by a guy who's right hand man is made of shit?

Nah they yanked bits and pieces and made it watchable, IMO.

Looks like it could be entertaining, but I doubt I see it in the theater.

so-called "real" super heroes, "you don't need powers to be a superhero." But it sure helps to be a physics-defying kid, apparently!

I wouldn't say they're physics defying in the traditional sense.... ok conservation of momentum of a little girl kicking you ain't going to make an adult male fly sure... but everything else looked realistic at least from a ninja like perspective.

Oh and McLovin as the Red Mist? HA! Brilliant!

Except for the violence and language, this looks like it's been made for little kids in addition to featuring them. Not impressed.

Cage is just annoying now so that definitely draws points but if they moderate the slapstick and preteen stuff it might actually be funny.

Well it's been made after the comic, which is far from being little kid friendly.

It features the kids because those are the ones who want to be superheroes... oh yeah and Nick Cage's character.

Hey, have you watched the new Bad Lieutenant? He's great in that, totally bonkers.

Somehow though, I doubt they will moderate all that preteen stuff. It seems to be a standard enforced in this type of movie lately, and that's just unfortunate. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though.

I don't mind there being kids in movies when it's done right, like in "The Lovely Bones" or "Let The Right One In", but here the result looks childish.

I watched it and you're absolutely right, he's as good as in Leaving Las Vegas.
Bad Lieutenant is a great movie for sure so I guess all hope is not lost but Cage really is hit and miss.

Got back from a screening tonight and really enjoyed this. It's a little slow to start and initially seems to be going down the wrong tracks (romance), but then kicks into gear after around 30 minutes or so.
I wasn't too keen on Kick-ass (the 'main' guy) as he's a bit of a douche, and it's a shame Big Daddy/Hit-Girl didn't get more screen time. Also, considering it's two hours long, there's almost zero back story as to why the bad guys are...bad. Apart from the fact they seem to be Italian mobsters...
Also loved a scene where Big Daddy is giving a serious talk in Kick Ass's bedroom and he looks like an absolute fuck-tard in his wannabe Batman costume + dodgy eye makeup and stuck on beard Laughing

So yeah, it's still really enjoyable and I know it'll be an instant classic - for me the last two fight scenes being on par with the Matrix' Lobby Scenes "holy shit" factor when you first saw that movie. Hit-Girl making the guys blow their brains out with their own gun? freakin' sweet!

8/10 for me
