I missed the first 15 minutes of the movie due to a mess up of show start time but still the movie captivated me and the ending does leave you in a limbo _________________ Your Anger is a Gift. |

I came out of the movie theater shellshocked... I expected a couple hours of mindless cgi explosions, it turned out to be much much more deeper (and entertaining) than that.
The supporting cast complemented Mr Titanic pretty well. Go watch this. Movie of the Year for me. _________________ My Lexicon |

I actually strongly dislike it when people say this about anything. If the author says it, it means he's just retarded and his song sucks (it's usually really bad musicians who make this claim). Most authors have a point. Maybe they purposely intend ambiguity, but the ambiguity would then itself be a point in that scenario. Anything else is just wanna-be awesome.
*SPOILER*
that said, I give christopher nolan too much credit to think he wanted to leave this personal to each person. There was definitely an overarching design here, as there is with anything brilliantly made. The ending was, indeed, left ambiguous, but that's the point -- the 'answer' isn't relevant, and what better way to illustrate that than to leave it unanswered?

Well, holy shit.
I went to this one with high expectations, and had them surpassed by miles.
This movie is plain and simply, awesome. Not only does it give breathtaking visuals, but the script is so sharp and clever. While it may have a two and half hour run time, it seemed to last only an hour.
If there was any gripe whatsoever, it seemed slightly action heavy towards the end. Fuck it, that's just nitpicking though, and trust me with a consistent movie like this, that's tough.
**SPOILERS**
Omegavader, I agree with you with the ambiguity of the ending. I'm even to this point torn as to the conclusion of the film. My first interpretation was that the last sequence (when they woke up on the plane) was part of his dream. But that would mean that he and Saito manage to escape Limbo, which was hinted to be near impossible.
As to the final scene, his little spinner (don't know what to call it) threw me off as to whether the last scene was reality or a dream, but then I remember a scene where Arthur mentioned that if someone else in the dream understands how it works, then it no longer holds any relevance.
Another possibility would be that the entire film was Cobb's battle with reality, as the scene with his wife towards the end indicates. Hence the whole idea being a parasite bit.
Anyways, bottom line is, this is a great movie. I'd love to hear everyone's interpretation. |

Saw it today, it was OK.
Worth watching.
Action sequences were too long and characters were flat.
Movie was a mix of matrix/caper movies/ generic action.
Overall nothing special but worth watching. |

I just came back from watching it, it is a very well done movie, but I don't think it is worth the 9.3 score it got on IMDB.
I loved the camera work - the zero gravity fights and scenes were excellent and very well done. I loved the snow scenes (felt like a FPS game mission).
I disliked his wife acting, it was just weird..

That shit is buggy; #1 and #2 on the top250 list are The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather, and they both have an avg score of 9.1; also when you check the chart, Inception is at #3 with (also) a 9.1 score. Just wait until a few thousand extra people rate it and it will go down a couple of spots, just like The (overrated IMO) Dark Knight did. _________________ Is DDR3 support on MSI X48C Platinum a fucking afterthought??? |

There was a time when imdb ratings meant something. Usually anything above 7 was pretty decent.
Now, right before the premiere almost all movies have almost perfect ratings and it usually remains positive for a few weeks. It's obvious the producers are supporting their movie.
How hard can it be manipulate imdb settings of just released movies... just a couple thousand accounts and a script and you're set... _________________ djsweepah

well, hype can do wonders. even movies have fanboys these days. Also, the only people who would really rate a movie are peopel who either love it or hate it. So it's really a race to see who gets more 10's than 1's. |

Nah, IMDB ratings are still a good ballpark; of course, when a movie has just been released, among the few people who felt the urge to vote there is a good amount of fanboys and people who are gonna overrate it. Usually when 15 to 20 thousand votes have been cast, the IMDB rating becomes more representative of the actual quality of the film. _________________ Is DDR3 support on MSI X48C Platinum a fucking afterthought??? |

You don't want to watch this in anything less than DVD quality... See it in theaters if you see it.
This movie was excellent...though not as ground-breaking as I was expecting. The movie had me thinking and back-tracking the entire drive home. _________________ "Every person is a new door to a different world." |

Yeah, everyone's right on this one. Dish out the couple bucks for the theater, or if not, wait for an hdrip. Trust me, in this movie, the sound, visuals, and plot work together in wonderful harmony. |

I don't really agree that this movie leaves much open to interpretation or that the ending was ambiguous. The final scene meant Cobb was either in another dream level (or limbo) or had actually returned to reality. I believe he had returned to reality considering at one point earlier in the movie he had spun the top and it eventually fell over. But like any great storyteller, Nolan was wise enough to leave a potential blockbuster series open-ended or simply leave people guessing. Great flick! _________________ Science is one cold hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap-on. |

OTOH, we never see his totem stop spinning since he was in Yosuf's basement. Maybe that's where he still is, dreaming.
And the girl certainly was asking alot about Cobb. Who know she's the architet of his never ending happy dream? _________________ Sabbath

Spoiler alert!!!!!!!!!!
The way I see it, the whole movie is a dream. The totem toppling throughout the film doesn't really matter, as it is not his totem but his wife's. So in his dreams it can keep spinning or topple over (if his subconscious thinks he's awake).
There are hints throughout the movie, but only in hindsight do they seem weird or out of place (just like in a dream, as is explained by Cobb himself). For example the walls closing in on him when he's trying to escape, or people that keep telling him to wake up, or the most obvious one: the scene in which his wife commits suicide from another room on the other side of the building they were actually in.
In the end it doesn't really matter though, whether or not it was all a dream. The feelings of catharsis were real, and that's the point this movie tries to make. _________________ Are you ready for that?
